Giving Is Awesome update

I hope everyone has had a safe and Happy New Years! I'm sick with the flu at the moment but I wanted to post who will receive the Giving Is Awesome photo session! Thank you to everyone who sent in their nominations, it was extremely hard to choose!! With that in mind I'd like to offer the photo session, with the prints & products that are included, to two families. Thank you to Carissa and Carrie for sharing the families stories with me. I don't want to give too much personal detail but here's a bit of information about the winners.

The first family was nominated by the "Big Sister", through the Big Brothers Big Sister program, of one of the children. The family has 6 children and recently moved into a subsidized home after living in motels for the past year. They are a married couple who work hard tying to make ends meet to support their family.

The second family was nominated by the Mothers co-worker. The Mother of this family is described as a "genuinely the nicest and most selfless person...she would be the first to give you the clothes off her back, even if it meant her going without." She cares for her elderly parents, one who has Alzheimer's, and rarely gets to spend time with her husband and two teenage sons (who also help care for their Grandmother). The family struggles to make ends meet.
